Maggi Rutterford

I work in a variety of natural materials, silk, wool, cotton, and linen and prefer to create by hand with needle and thread. My work is informed by the natural world, and the symbolism of the life cycle. I have been strongly influenced by and have a great interest in Asia.  Since completing the City and Guilds Diploma in 2000 I have continued to study both art and textiles.

I was the first prize-winner in the competition ‘Eastern Inspirations’ and my work has been retained by the Norfolk Museums Service for their permanent collection.

As a member of TAGS and founder member of Majyk Scraps, I exhibit regularly, both with them and with Suffolk Open Studios.

I am available to give talks and workshops on my work and Indian Kantha work and other aspects of textile art.
